Hamburger Noodle Stroganoff

This was a main dish from my childhood.  I grew up with my mom raising 3 children on her own and this was an easy, quick and affordable meal for us.  My mom's kid-friendly ingredient is the ketchup - and the orange color it turns.  All of my girls love it, too, but my husband is not a fan.

Hamburger Noodle Stroganoff


Ingredients:

1 lb. lean ground beef
salt & pepper to taste
1 can cream of celery ( or homemade recipe)
      OR cream of mushroom (we don't care for mushrooms)
1 ½ cups sour cream
½ cup ketchup
12 oz. extra wide egg noodles

Directions:  

Boil egg noodles per package.  In skillet, brown ground beef with salt & pepper.  Drain off grease and add in cream soup, sour cream, and ketchup and stir together.
